Understanding the Technology that Leads to Making the Right Choice
Three important points:
- Gearbox and Gear Reducer components cannot be rewelded or reprocessed.
- Many tolerances for components (such as gears) are greater than three decimal places. If there is wear, replacing the components is the recommended solution.
- Concerning the connection between the Gearbox or Gear Reducer and motor, we typically do not use what are known as couplings (such as rigid couplings, flexible couplings, gear couplings, or disc couplings). Instead, we directly secure the motor to the gearbox or gear reducer using screws and washers.
